Masterclass

Born in 1925, Claude Lanzmann, director of the landmark film Shoah, has played a unique role in France’s intellectual scene throughout his life. He has led so many different lives: as a journalist, a writer, and a film director (Shoah, Sobibor...). He recounted his life in his memoir The Patagonian Hare, which was a phenomenal success in France and has been translated into ten languages. To coincide with the release of his book in the UK, Lanzmann has accepted to take part in a unique masterclass dedicated to his cinematographic work, illustrated with film clips. Don't miss the chance to hear Lanzmann speak about his inspirational lifetime achievements, passions and commitments!

Some history about us...

The French bookshop La Page was the first of its type to open, in 1978, at the heart of South Kensington. Since opening it has provided French books, stationery products, and newspapers to all those wanting the real taste of France at their doorstep.
Faithful to this mission, the current director Isabelle Lemarchand, who took over in 2008, vowed to offer an efficient service delivered by a friendly and professional staff. Last May we opened a new shop south of the Thames where you can find the same French spirit.
Step into one of our two bookshops to find French books, films, stationery, newspapers and magazines, games for all age, gifts and even more!

We look forward to meeting you soon!
